What's in YOUR Fleet?

I think I have my fleet in it’s final configuration…
Mustang OMEGA - AMD (only has 2-month insurance, not worth upgrading)
315p (only thing I may change if something neat comes out)
Super Hornet
Vulture
Cutlass Black
Freelancer DUR
Vulcan
Cat’
Endeavor

You do know that the 315P is the only small ship with 12 SCU and can explore.

Here is my most current line-up. Probably will not change anymore before release. I am mostly satisfied with them. The snubs/vehicles I don’t really care too much about since those will be easily earned in game but oh well. The dragonfly and Cyclone were included with other ships so more or less freebies for me. I had 2 P-72s that I bought for the LTI but only ended up upgrading 1 of them. Everything other than the Prospector has LTI. At this point I do not think I will purchase any upgrades or melt anything anymore.

Oh how many times have I said that…

sure

I feel I need to add that I am not judging you @Sparticus but rather just teasing because I have uttered those same kind of words in the past and…hehe

Haha oh trust me I’ve said that multiple times now

Oh was diggin around the dusty ole hangar on RSI and discovered I have a Mole to Merchantman upgrade…so guess at some point my fleet will change before release :stuck_out_tongue: kinda funny because I dont remember buying it haha

So Ive been mulling around about changing out my vanguard warden and would like some input on posabilities. Im not exactly good at combat so i would need something tanky. Not a huge need on a solo play as in the long run other turrets/guns will have npcs or blades. Leaning towards something like the redeemer with how the rework is shaping up but open to anything. Holding and waiting is also an option since who knows what could come out in the following years.

Freelancers - DUR (exploration) - MAX (cargo) - MIS (gun ship)

Even the base Freelancer has 6 cannons and 4 missiles.
All Freelancers has some cargo space.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually swapped out my cutty black to a max this last expo. I don’t think i would attempt too much in terms of combat in a max though. I would need to spend more time flying around in it for sure.

Corsair is a good option for you.
Also take a good look at the Mercury Star Runner. Not quite as tanky as you might like, but ample firepower and has the multi-role thing nailed.
Also, as we have seen some recent love being offered to making these ships more in line with the latest game updates, you might consider a Constellation. The Andromeda has a LOT of firepower for her size and can be solo or multicrew, decent cargo space and a snub fighter attached. Right now the entire Connie line is in need of updating but last patch they started that process so I think we will see more refinements and improvements coming its way soon.

Hmm i would never have considered the Corsair to fill a combatish type role but after looking at it again it does pack quite a punch. The MSR does look nice. What is holding me back on melting is that i would lose the LTI that i have. I do have another LTI token i could use to upgrade to the MSR if it becomes available.

I few around in Conny back when i first started throwing cash at the game. It wasnt bad other than flew like an overweight pig and had a tendency to fall over on its nose for some reason. I do understand the complaints about the view from the cockpit.

Thanks for the suggestions Simdor. I will have to consider the Corsair and will put it up against the Redeemer. They both have different roles so that will also be taken into consideration as well. The Conny will have to be watched to see how it progresses and what they do to it. MSR will probably float around in the back of my head as a possible later upgrade of another LTI token.

I hit Legatum and got my Exec 600i during the convention, my fleet’s done for awhile, won’t be buying anything else unless I absolutely need it.

Or the next sale whichever comes first. :smiling_imp:

Nah, I’m good. More and more things I don’t own, only bought skins and did some shifting around during that last sale, didn’t buy most of what they offered. I did log in, first time I’ve done so in over a year, to wander around the convention. Spawned my ship to fly around, got shot by another player, logged out, uninstalled :stuck_out_tongue:

For those of you who are wondering, “Who the hell is Elranyar?”, you probably remember me as Dwenos. I’ve been inactive on the OTG forums for some time, but I’m back.

I will separate my current “fleet” into two parts, ships and vehicles. My ships are:

MISC Hull-E, UEE Yánalunca, for high-bulk, low-value transport missions
Origin 890 Jump, UEE Eltúrion, serves as my in-game palace or home
RSI Polaris, UEE Ohtanamba, for military missions like counter-piracy or counter-Vanduul militia
Aegis Hammerhead, UEE Hatieraumo, for anti-fighter and anti-torpedo defense and convoy escort
MISC Starfarer Gemini, UEE Yulmacolindo, to scoops, process, and sell fuel or refuel other fleet elements
Crusader M2 Hercules Starlifter, UEE Carmatultar, for moderate-risk transport missions
RSI Perseus, for military missions like counter-piracy or counter-Vanduul militia
Anvil Valkyrie, UEE Ohtarraxa, for ground assault missions
Aegis Vulcan, UEE Arquendur, for fleet support
Aegis Vanguard Harbinger, UEE Sanyëmacil, fighter optimized against medium-size targets
MISC Freelancer MAX, UEE Lérroehtar, for smaller transport missions
Drake Cutlass Black, UEE Huinëcorco, for high risk transport of low-bulk, high-value goods
Crusader Ares Inferno, UEE Náraumo, fighter optimized against medium and large targets
Origin 350r, UEE Tyelcarána, personal transport
Aegis F7C-M Super Hornet, UEE Paitar, general-purpose fighter
Origin 100i, UEE Lilteroccincë, personal transport

Tumbril Cyclone AA
Origin X1 Force
Drake Dragonfly Black
Aopoa Nox Kue

Note that I have no exploration ships, because I don’t think that exploration will be a viable role in the 'verse. Given the pace at which new location content is added, there will likely be no undiscovered systems, planets, or moons added to the game. Or, if there is, it will be only one, and it will quickly be discovered and explored, probably within hours of being added.

There are also no industrial ships in my fleet. While these are great income producers, industrial game play doesn’t really interest me.

Exploration play will be finding things for others to exploit. Scanning deep fields and asteroids for rare ores and either exploiting it yourself or selling the data to it for others to do so. Finding new systems/wormholes will be a very tiny part of exploration play.

I think the guild as a whole probably has enough. My personal thought on it is that if only a few people are online who are miners for example, they can go out and scout out some good mining spots for when more are available to put together a fleet.

I’m sure that everyone is aware of that use. If its not someones playstyle no problem.

I’ll state again that I’m not good at combat so there will be some UEC available to those that are.

While that might technically be a type of exploration in the broadest sense of the term, it is not the exploration that most imagine when investing in a Carrack, 600i Explorer, Corsair, etc., nor is it the type of exploration featured in the commercials for those ships, nor the type of exploration they are optimized for. When I think of exploration, I imagine the USS Enterprise discovering strange new worlds and new civilizations, not a modern oil exploration ship finding likely places to drill for offshore oil. I know that many players enjoy industrial game play (locating, collecting, processing, and selling resources), and that’s great, but I don’t. So for me, so-called “exploration” ships don’t support a play style I would enjoy.

We knew from the very start we are never exploring strange new civilizations, and we knew 5 years ago we weren’t going to explore strange new worlds. The game was going to have 150 systems…erm…50 systems…erm 5 systems…would you believe 5 planets in a system? If you bought your Carrack thinking of the Enterprise then you really need to melt that thing.

There aren’t going to be “secret” wormholes. Why would they spend 10 years of development to create a system and then hide it? Also, even if there were “secret” wormholes they’d be found 15 min after being added by the 50,000 person orgs who will simply spam the system for 24 hours like Chinese gold farmers until it’s found.
