At some point I missed the availability of the Carrack/Pisces C8 combo which I certainly would have upgrade my Carrack to had I noticed. I have a Terrapin which is slightly bigger than a Pisces and the Pisces fits in the Carrack apparently. Would the Terrapin fit in a Carrack?
I do not think it will but Anvil is on display at the ArcCorp 18 convention center so go rent them and pop them into your hangar and compare.
no it does not
kicks a moon rock
Dangit!
Yeah there was a LOT of disappointment when it was tested out. Surprisingly a Buck does, as does an Aurora.
To throw some stuff out. I purchased my BMM before learning any of the lore. I got it based on the store aspect and that it was a kind of blockade runner. Sounded fun.
As for what can be stuffed into a Carrack, if not using the the explorer craft, the buck could be a fun surprise.
Hereās me. Iāve thrown enough at this project so my wallet is closed until release. This will have to do. I tried to cover the gameplay areas that interested me the most.
Hereās my āfleet.ā
Iām most looking forward to getting the Star Runner, which will become my main ship. Iāll probably upgrade the Titan to a Prospector so that I can do some mining on the side. Definitely keeping the Super Hornet for combat missions. Depending on how fun the Ranger RC is, Iāll either keep it and get a rover that can fit in the MSR, or just upgrade the Ranger to the new rover.
Mmmm well $50 in store credit and $90 in real money and I changed things up again. The Dragonfly Black became a Pisces Expedition. The Freelancer DUR became a Star Runner. The Terrapin became a Vanguard Warden.
Now I have a:
Carrack
Orion
Hull C
Star Runner
Vanguard Warden
Hornet Ghost
Pisces Expedition
Cyclone RN
I might upgrade the Vanguard Warden to a Sentinel. I would like to pick up an X1 for a space/air bike and a Ranger for a land bike. Iām also thinking I might change the Pisces Expedition up to a Razor Ex, I would expect a Razor could fit into the Carrack. Hopefully that will do for me to start off with
Razer ex is a great stealth option to pair with the carrack for when you want to take a look around and not be noticed.
I very much recommend upgrading the Warden to Sentinel.
The Pisces is great for what it is, a shuttle for 3 with some cargo space that can defend itself a bit in a pinch.
The RazerEx is a very different ship, also great for what it is, a single seater stealth ship meant to get in and out FAST without being noticed.
Just depends on what you want to put in the Carrack.
I say get both
I think Iāll get a Razor ingame with ingame funds, because it is a bit pricier than the Pisces.
And argh! Waiting for someone to pay me back a loan and missed the chance to upgrade my Warden to a Sentinel because BROKE! Darnā¦oh well Iām sure there will be another chance before the game is āreleasedā
Nice fleet ! full of useless ships you didnāt even try but nice, you are rich, you can be proud of yourself
Could anyone who has done the research (looking at you Simdor), fill me in on what vehicles will fit best in my ships?
Cutlass Blue, Prospector, Freelancer MIS, Redeemer, Vulcan, Carrack, Starfarer Gemini, Merchantman, Reclaimer
what ships can carry a Ballista or a Nova?
Iām surprised the Hull series cant carry a MPUV Cargoā¦seems counterintuitive
Blue, I think maybe a greycat buggy
Prospector, none to date
MIS, up to a ROC itās a tight fit and may go up on the wall but itāll fit. Dragonfly, other ground lev bikes as well
Deemer, unknown at this time
Same with the Vulcan
Carrack, pretty much anything up to a Rover or two. Easily 3-4 ROCs, 3 Rovers, many greycats. In the top hangar A buc if you park it cockeyed, any aurora, Misc racer etc.
Starfarer, geez most things, still donāt think a Tonk will fit though
BMM, dunno.
Reclaimer? I know the elevator can bring up a rover with no issue, if it stays on the lift that is.
The Starlifter seems to be custom made to transport Tonks
Thanks ProfX, I donāt have a lot of free time for research, so you folks that have are awesome help.
ok went down to this: all LTI
Yellowjacket, X1, 85X, ROC, Nova
Cutlass Blue (Starter Ship)
Star Runner, Merchantman (Trade, Freight)
Prospector (Early Credits)
Vulture, Reclaimer (Salvage)
Vulcan, Starfarer Gemini (Resupply)
F7A-M Super Hornet, Freelancer MIS, Redeemer (Escort /Interdiction)
Carrack (Exploration/ Late Game)
Still think I need to focus more: Could cash in these⦠seem redundant and limited
Nova 105
Freelancer MIS 175 to Ares Inferno?
I am partial to the Freelancer MIS myself, mainly because I fly it around most of the time. For me, and my flight/fight style, itās a good all rounder. It takes quite a beating and can dish out substantial damage.
I can see an argument for the Infernos, but I prefer the bird in the hand.
I have a Cutlass and a few credits that are likely to become a vulture once the salvage mechanic is in place.
Iāve kept my yellowjacket as well, but have melted the rest of my ground vehicles. that were under 60 bucks. Mainly because a Tumbril Rover RC only costs like 25k in auec which is like half as much as it should be based on cost. Figure most of the sub-60 vehicles are going to be cheaper in game. The Nova, thatās a beefy one and maybe worth it.
Cutlass Blue is going to primarily be useful as a Bounty Hunter.
Mercury Star Runner is cargo/smuggling and data runner.
Prospector is obviously a miner.
Here is what I would recommend. Ditch the Vulture and use the Vulcan as salvage and resupply. It will server for both in early game and as you progress you can move up to Reclaimer.
Gemini is ok for resupply too but you may want to look into a Crucible.
My big issue with this list is how spread out you are. Couple of important notes to keep in mind.
- Bigger does not mean better. Bigger means more crew, more cost to operate. Bigger is for group play.
- You will not easily be able to move all of these ships from place to place at the same time, so unless you plan to find a single location and settle in as home, think about a single profession and focus on that.
When I see backers with about as much tied into the game as what you have I tell them this: Pick the profession that sounds like the most fun to you and invest heavily in that. Pick 1 secondary profession that also sounds fun and have a solo pilotable ship for that profession and maybe 1 small crew ship. Pick one single pilotable combat ship, 1 crew based combat ship and maybe 1 large combat ship. If you have leftovers go with small vehicles.
Fighters will be the easiest to obtain in the game so those should be lowest on the priority list.
Looking at your fleet, if you wanted to say go with Salvage primary and repair/resupply as secondary I would suggest having the following in your hangar:
- Vulcan as starter salvage and repair and supply
- Reclaimer and large salvage
- Crucible as large repair and resupply OR Endeavor with appropriate attachments
- Super Hornet
- Freelancer MIS OR Redeemer
- Put the rest in ground vehicles of your choice, though only the Crucible, Reclaimer and Freelancer MIS will carry anything
As for what is best that fits, the MIS and Reclaimer can fit about the same inside, which would be a ROC probably.
IF you really want to get crazy, Work your fleet down to a MSR, Vulcan, Redeemer and Reclaimer. Put a ROC in the MSR for when you want to do mining work. Put the rest in credits.
oh and keep the BMM of course. Never get rid of that. Ever.
Prospector, MSR, Vulcan are all playable single player which is nice.
(Redeemer and Merchantman I want to see where they evolve to. So I want to hang onto them
F7A-M Super Hornet was my first purchase so kinda sentimental there ).
Starfarer, Reclaimer, Carrack, all require 4 man crews⦠may be kidding myself there. I bought them over the years caving to excitement, but with my schedule and erratic playtime might intervene.
Freelancer MIS I thought when I purchased them would be rarer, but they are regularly available, so not so attractive to collect. I also thought the Nova might be rare in game and the LTI would be nice for a combat vehicle. Might be a transport issue thoā¦
vulture, misc, nova, cutlass blue : crucible? Again requires large crew (4)
Would a SRV be of value? Could move salvage to my Reclaimer?
Carrack to 600i?
