Oh yeah, Grapper, have you considered whether or not you plan to permit the free archetype optional rule?
I suppose it depends on how the party wants to play. Perhaps everyone should get the Vigilante Archetype for free?

ROFL! My first thought was “Wait, is that really a thing?” That made me look it up, so my second thought was “OMG! It is!”
That’s certainly an option! It seems like it depends on where we are based and what we are doing.
Is Dragon Cult people really on the table? I think Im liking that if it is.
Regarding religions:
I updated the spells for the three Church of Sabazios orders in post # 2
If anyone wants to do something different, there are other, smaller, priestly orders within the church and we can create something.
There are many “heretical” cults around and if anyone has an idea, I can make something for that
for the Cult of the Dragon I came up with this:
Worshippers of Algweorn are known as the Cult of the Dragon. They serve him in exchange for power over others.
Edicts exert power over those weaker than yourself, enact the will of The Great Lord
Anathema submit to the weak, question or defy the will of Algweorn
Cleric Spells 1st: Breathe Fire 3rd: Veil of Privacy 7th: Volcanic Eruption
Divine Font harm
Divine Sanctification may choose unholy
Divine Skill Intimidation
Domains Confidence, Fire, Tyranny, Wealth
Favored Weapon Dagger
I think Dragon Cult people would have to be the whole group though… or at least sympathizers.
Yeeeeah, I dunno. Both major religious groups sound pretty awful. Either option is filled with tyrannical assholes.
We’ll just have to be Vigilante’s who look out for the little guy!
Yeah. Look out for the little guys! I agree with @Uglybugger , we should all play halflings.
While the Inquisition are zealots, the other orders are more chill
Even the Order of Demonology? I mean, you did mention that they seek out heresies of all kinds. I suppose seeking them out doesn’t mean that they’re stamping them out though… Glad to see you added heal as a Divine Font option for them.
Bad wording on my part. The Inquisition seeks out heresies of all kinds. The Demonologists fight against Undead and Demons.
I was just looking through backgrounds to try to jumpstart some creative juices… I came across Haunted and was thinking about a character that is haunted by the spirit of his mother and when he fails the skill roll that she aided him on she goes into a guilt trip style admonishment of how he is such a disappointment.
I don’t know that Warpriest really does anything for me. Cloistered is probably a better choice since I’m getting my weapon proficiency through a feat and I’m not wearing armor.
Kotar didn’t usually take jobs this far away. But the pay was good and he didn’t mind walking. He certainly didn’t expect to make a friend. He wasn’t the friend making type. But this old woman just happened to be walking the same direction he was. He figures that he was intrigued by the sword she was carrying as much as anything. He had never seen it’s like before, single edged long and curved with a grip that would fit both hands. All the two handers he had seen were heavy, this one looked fast. So when she smiled and asked where he was headed he told her his general direction. Her face lit up and she said “Me too! Shall we walk together? It’s a long road and it does get lonely.” He still doesn’t really know why he agreed. The first morning after they started walking together while he was breaking camp she worked through forms with her sword. He didn’t realize he had stopped working and was just sitting and watching her until she stopped. She gave a small smile but didn’t say anything. She just knelt down afterward, placed her sheathed sword on the ground in front of her, pulled a small book out of her pouch and started reading. He finished up his work and they started walking again. After a couple of hours of walking in silence she simply said “Ask.” He grunted and started by asking her questions about the sword. She told him everything. He had never met someone so open. Someone who seemingly had no secrets whatsoever. In a nutshell she was some sort of wandering priestess. He didn’t know what else to call it and she didn’t really have a name for what she did either. All her answers seemed to tie back to her faith. This was yet another baffling thing. All the people of faith he had ever met were corrupt. Of course he knew they were corrupt simply by the fact that they had hired him to kill someone or in some cases whole groups of people, like the job he was on now. But this old woman just had a way about her. It made him feel something. That was weird. He had always assumed that he was broken in some way, because normal people just didn’t do the things he did. But he never actually felt anything. At the end of that first day she offered to teach him some of the sword forms. He had not expected that. He didn’t know why he didn’t expect it, she had been so open and sharing about anything he asked. So he worked through the forms. She gently but firmly corrected his mistakes and smiled when he got them right. When they finished and she started making a fire for their camp he asked “Do I sit and read the book now?” She chuckled and replied “No. That’s not for you yet.” The next morning started with her sword forms and reading and the evening ended with him working the forms. Two weeks of traveling together through a mostly barren land brought them close to his target. In the night once she was asleep he got up and walked to the next town. He got there well before sunrise and dropped the packet into the well. By the time he got back to camp she was already awake and was reading her book. Her sword was in its customary place on the ground just in front of where she knelt. When she looked up at him he knew that she knew. To this day he can’t fathom how much was wordlessly communicated between them in that moment. She sighed, set her book aside and said “Now. This is for you.” and patted the book affectionately. She continued “I have ingested some of the same poison that you put in the well this morning. I do not have long to live so if you have questions, ask them now.” He just shrugged and asked “Why?” She chuckled lightly and said “The most asked question in the universe. You had your mission to destroy. I had my mission to save. We are opposites in that way. But we are also very much alike. We both kill to fulfill our purposes but we do it for very different reasons. You kill for money, I kill to save.” He said, dumbfounded, “But you could have saved those people any night on this journey by simply killing me in my sleep.” She smiled and nodded, “I don’t yet understand why, but my mission was not to save them."
I’m still working on the actual character build and tweaking the token some, but that’s the gist of him.
@grapper I also sent you a PM about some thoughts just in case you don’t get a notification.
and I’m getting a message from the forums:
“You’ve posted a lot in this topic! Consider giving others an opportunity to reply here and discuss things with each other as well.”
With respect to the Free Archetype discussion I can only justify a few Free Archetype options:
Blessed One
Medic
and maybe Mauler or Martial Artist or something but those don’t seem to fit as well.
And someone else needs to post something so maybe I will stop getting these messages that are trying to make me feel guilty about dominating the conversation.
EDIT:
The Blessed One seems like a better long term option since it has something to take at every even level for a Free Archetype where Medic doesn’t go very far.
EDIT OF THE EDIT:
I missed the very obvious Avenger from War of Immortals… that might actually be the best fit of them all really and I don’t even know what it does, I’ve only read the description. https://pf2easy.com/index.php?id=84073&name=Avenger OK now I’ve read the feats… it doesn’t fit with my chosen weapon AT ALL! Unless I make him into a dual wielder.
EDIT OF THE EDITED EDIT:
Avenger really could work. It wouldn’t be efficient but it really would have the right flavor.
E OF E OF E OF E: Well shit… avenger is Rogue only.
Grapper already said she wasn’t planning to use the Free Archetype rule.
I thought she said no Free Archetype UNLESS there is a reason for it to fit in thematically. It’s not something that’s a deal breaker, just thinking about a few things to make my healing a bit better since I’m a sub-optimal cleric.
@Daemoro Background looks good. It sounds like a bit of a mystical cult.
What I propose is that the woman who recruited you sometimes contacts you in your dreams. Would that work for you?
We can put the katana in as the favored weapon, so there are no feat taxes to do this.
Help me define it, what do you envision as its Edicts, Anathema, etc?
Mysterious group of sword-wielding itinerate priests ???
Edicts ??
Anathema ??
Cleric Spells ??
Divine Font heal
Divine Sanctification may choose holy
Divine Skill ??
Domains ??
Favored Weapon Katana
