Is there a way to get in the same area? I plan on playing on official PVE servers and would like to be close to friends.
If it’s like ark, (and watching the steam, it is exactly like Ark) you pick a region to start in.
Also I will be looking for that Discord Channel about an hour before (7th) launch.
i dont see whynot the stream im watching (forsen) he spawned in the starter zone with his friend and they are doing it together so its doable with cordination i assume

I’ll be giving it a shot if it ever launches lol. It’ll probably be my main game for a few weeks until another one I’ve been waiting for launches, at that point it’ll be a few hours a week kind of thing…assuming the game launches in a somewhat playable state
If someone does start a crew ( assuming that’s what guilds will be called since it’s a ship game) I’d be interested in joining
Hopefully there’s no more delays I have zero plans the next 3 days

I saw some screenshots of the in-game menus. It looks a lot like ARK’s. The server list was not populated, so no server names yet. Once it launches, we can coordinate a common server and spawn location.
only streamers can play right now and they are their own server will wipe once released. it is basically ark with pirates. almost a clone
from what little I’ve read, there are only two servers, one PVP one PVE

yeah only 2 servers 1 pve and 1 pvp. the biggest thing we’ll have to worry about is starting location. I’m not sure how many starter islands there will be to choose from. The game is supposed to have something like 700 islands and hold up to 40k so I’m assuming it’ll have quite a few
It is also supposed to take 30 hours to sail completely from one side to the other, so yeah you would want to all start in the same location if possible.

Most of OTG would be on the PVE server, or private servers.
Whomever is moderating the Game Dev threads… is it possible to have an actual ATLAS area setup? Right now there’s 2 active Atlas threads here with similar information.

As Darth mentioned there’s currently 2 public servers (PVE/PVP – neither are up yet at the time of this post, but will be soon).
Most of OTG will be on PVE. Supposedly there’s a bunch of safe zone starter areas to choose from, so whomever manages to get in the game first please post to let others know which starting area you chose so that we can attempt to keep OTG somewhat together in the huge world. Thanks!

That seems to be the big mystery at the moment, their goal seems to be to pack 40k people on a PVE server, and 40k people on a PVP server. I’m not sure they will have any regional choices, at least not yet. Also not sure if private servers will be available today or not, which would be similar to what ARK offered.
I looked up private servers and they look to be pre-selling them and the number of clusters you buy equals map size
