Yeah, I remember that. Funny how that album cover is considered risque back then and nowadays it would be considered lightweight.
Now… ask me about 45 rpm singles! ahahaha
Yeah, I bought 45’s before I bought LP’s. They were cheaper, and I was a broke kid!
It was 1974. The band was Weather Report. The LP was “Mysterious Traveler.”
I don’t remember what it was, but I guarantee you it was a 45. Some hot 70’s hit, no doubt. I couldn’t afford to buy albums at that point.
My first full length album was probably this one:
Pretty sure Michael Jackson was my second album… Either that or Iron Maiden’s Powerslave…
1988 when I served in the USAF. “Last beat of my heart.”
I don’t know about the first, but a good guess would be one by parents bought for me when I was around 10 years old. Will go with this, in 12" record format:
Kiss - Double Platinum
Or does it have to be one I bought myself with own money? If so, a good guess would be this, in cassette tape format:
ZZ Top – Eliminator
Albedo 0.39 by Vangelis.
I was led to it by the soundtrack of the TV series Cosmos (on PBS) by Carl Sagan: Cosmos: A Personal Voyage - Wikipedia
I figured I’d make this my first post since joining. First vinyl I ever bought…
Yeah, it’s a cheat, it’s a single, but it explains so much about me.
I’ve never heard of the band “Post Deleted”
That’s because they didn’t last very long.
The Music of Cosmos, put out by PBS.
