C’moooon GM, this is Starfinder…super future fantasy stuff. Is there not a clinic or somewhere I can go to get the racial equivalent of a gender change?
We’ve got a nice story consistent way of swapping out characters when you liberate the prisoners in the garrison. Patience grasshopper.
Just to be clear, I don’t want to swap out my character. I just want to change my theme which I haven’t used so far anyway.
Also, the only person I’ve ever heard do a good southern accent is Daniel Craig in Knives Out.
Just to be clear, I unfortunately do want to swap out my character, although I would be essentially playing the same character, just a different race.
@Mazzus A bit of strategy/tactics regarding your Biohacker buffs; your buffs are great. However, the AC buff is probably not the best buff for my Vanguard…not that I am selling the AC buff short or anything, yet another good buff, but the Vanguard kind of wants to get hit. One of the ways the Vanguard gains Entropy points is by taking damage equal to or greater than twice my level. The best biohack buff for me I think is the speed boost effect, the +10 feet of speed will let me get within melee range faster and the Vanguard is primarily a melee class. Also, if you get any biohacks/buffs that give temp or extra HP/SP at any point, that would b good as well. The AC boost is bets used on those with lower AC than me as I also wear heavy armor.
@Ryuken True, but my character doesn’t know this. My character knows nothing about how a Vanguard works. All my character cares about is not having to heal anybody. Not getting hit might not work for your character, but it works great for Draevyn
@Rando one thing that occurs to me regarding any changes to Syggy is that given that multiple souls can cycle through the body of an android over the course of their existence, this should be a decent mechanism for changing her without actually completely swapping her out.
It’s possible that Syggy was aboard the original Androffan starship that landed on Golarion thousands of years before the gap but she has no recollection of any of that because she is not the original soul that inhabited this machine.
Don’t worry @Ryuken Vash will be doing everything in his power to make sure you get hit instead of him, no matter how much ac the biohacker gives you.
Also I will warn you now, if you go dragon kin, Vash is totally going dragon riders of pern.
OK well I don’t see myself wearing a saddle for you there @Findywen, but interestingly enough Dragonkin is one of the race alternatives I am looking at and Dragonkin have this:
Partner Bond
A dragonkin can form a permanent bond with one willing non-dragonkin creature. Once this bond is made, a dragonkin cannot form another partner bond unless its current partner dies. A dragonkin and its partner can communicate with each other as if they both had telepathy with a range of 100 feet. In combat, when a dragonkin is within 30 feet of its partner, both creatures roll initiative checks separately and treat the higher result as the result for both of them.
Just remember, if you go Dragonkin, your name has to end in “th” Per Anne McCafferty’s dragon naming nomenclature…
Mith
@Ryuken yeah I was aware of that as well as the sky fire centurion archetype. It was something I had looked at during character Gen.
@Mithinar so something like Bicth, then Vash can introduce him in the possessive form, “I am Vash and this is my Bicth, and the rest of the crew” . Vash can work with that. Lol
Me as a Dragonkin: “Guys, I tried really really really hard not to step on the space goblin, but he kept referring to me as his Bicth and well…ooops!”
I approve of this message. Lol
I can’t decide on a different race to switch to. Any of these three is a viable choice to compare to Izalguun in regards to size and reach and they all actually have somewhat better stat bonuses and racial perks/abilities. I’m leaning towards Dragonkin, but Trox is also pretty handy
- Dragonkin
- Shobhad
- Trox

Trox - Good natured, looks for a peaceful/diplomatic reult before resorting to violence, deeply spiritual - you’re gonna hear a lot of references to The Forever Queen (Hylax), hates duergar with a fervent passion, avoids fighting because once in combat the “fighting fury” tends to overtake him
Dragonkin - friendly, good natured, somewhat militant/disciplined (background with the Skyfire Legion), protective nature in regards to smaller individuals (which would be all of you hehe), gruff/blunt nature because of the military background and being a dragonking, looks down upon lying/deceit/not being good, strong sense of pride
Shobhad - Good natured but a bit of an asshole, can be belligerent/confrontational, very blunt, respects strength and honor, looks down on signs of weakness, stubborn, tends to smash first and not care about asking questions later/not very diplomatic at all, feels aggression and confrontation is the best way to get one’s point across, gets restless easily (wanderlust)
Oh yeah… prepare for dinging level two tonight. Maybe.
Oh I don’t know. I’m not having any issues with time at the moment. /smirk
