Yes that thing. My bad!
I think I want to call it an elementalist because to me a “kineticist” should be somebody who sends rapidly moving objects (like bullets) towards an enemy.

Well, I don’t imagine a Kineticist being a caster like a Thaumaturge should be a caster by it’s definition alone.
It does sound more like a specialization for a class than an actual class in itself hehe.
That’s fair.
I don’t know why I thought the kineticist would be like an elemental themed spell caster. I think I had read a lot of posts on the paizo forums by people really keen to have a 2e version of it and a lot of talk about its elemental powers/attacks/whatever. And I just mentally jumped to the that conclusion
When I finally got around to looking at the playtest I was pretty surprised and wondering who the class was for. I think its basically for the crowd of folks who love the MCU but aren’t really into fantasy RPGs and are only playing to hang out with their friends
I feel personally attacked.
Oh right. I forgot there is also this IP called “Airbender the Last Avatar” that might have inspired the Kineticist. Apparently its very popular and I know @Rando is really big fan
So Kineticist=Avatar=Blue people therefor one can only be a Duskwalker Kineticist because blue people
A Kobold, a Goblin and a Dwarf walk into a bar
…the rest of the party walked over it.
casts Produce Flame aimed up as the larger being walks over me
putting finishing touches on it, and planning our some progression, but as of this moment I am 75% sure I will be playing a cleric of Brigh, and I think I am going female Elf / Aphorite. Who will likely go inventor for the free archetype, and I am planning to go Time Mage as a second Archetype at lvl 6.
@Rando I envision her as Lawful Neutral for obvious reasons, but I see her more concerned with laws of the cosmos than mortal law. Not that she will be breaking local laws herself, but willing to turn a blind eye to that sort of thing. And maybe if the greater flow of the machinations of the cosmos require her to break a mortal law, well then it must be done for the greater laws in play. If that is an issue let me know.
edit 95% sure i will play the cleric, have her advancement penciled in to lvl 12
I’ve been doing some thinking/soul searching and I’m tossing around a couple other character ideas as well. I don’t know if I want to play my kobold sorcerer delusions of dragon grandeur as a bad pyromaniac so I might play something else, but not sure yet. Still mulling it over. I’m actually kind of interested in the Kineticist class, but I don’t want to play test it, play testing the Magus was enough to turn me off of playtesting. I was watching this cute kids show with my nephews the other day and it’s called Bluey, it’s about a family of cattle dogs. I am now leaning back towards my Shoony (looks like a cattle dog, not a pug though) catburglar/thief character idea, so I am working on that one in concept also.
Awesome! Heroforge guy.
With everyone else doing it i jumped over to hero forge too.
Though I might have my daughter use it as a reference and draw something for me, I couldnt really get any glowing motes of power on her, or a shimmer like Aphorites have.
Well let me know if you are going to play a thief and I will try to think of something else. I don’t like playing the same class as another player.
Actually if I play a Shoony I’ll probably go Bard as sort of the teller of the tales and singer of the songs of the scoundrels, rogues and seedier types of the realm. And definitely a “face” type character for deception/persuasion and that sort of stuff.
But I’m still deciding between that or the Kobold Sorcerer who is definitely an arsonist.
I used to think the same, but with all the different paths and archetype options I think at least the core classes have a lot of options that can make two characters of the same class hugely different. As long as you are looking at the rogue as something more than a skills monkey. I had two completely different rogue builds in mind at a couple points. The first was a ruffian build, crowd control and off tank, probably had stealth but would not have been his primary skill to raise. The other was a very sneaky boi, all stealth and thievery I think he was a slyphe or something like that, though I cant recall why I made that choice.
But there are exceptions to that too, unless a pair of wizards are being careful there is potential for alot of spell overlap no matter what class or archetype choices they make.
Sure, I get that, but there are also a lot of similarities with the same class, regardless. It’s just a quirk of mine that in a small group, the more diversification the better, imo.
Well the more I think it over and look into it I just can’t really make my Shoony cat burglar concept to work, it was more of a flight of fancy than anything else. In fact I can’t really come up with a Shoony concept that works for a more outlaw character. I won’t be doing anything rogue at any rate regardless of what character concept I end up playing so you are free to do rogue with no character class overlap.
Everyone’s flip-floppin’ is makin’ me wanna 'turge.
