There’s no tension as far as I’m concerned. It’s up to you how often you want to use your breath weapon. I will do my best to work with you regarding positioning if it helps. I do think its easier to pull off before things go into melee so I can cover you with my glaive. Once melee starts I’ll need to position myself to maximize damage against enemies and minimize damage to friends.
I suppose a tactic could be that I go invisible a bit before we think we might get an encounter and then I can be up front and get off the breath weapon with a bit of surprise. It all comes down to initiative rolls at that point hehe.

I need to make a couple of changes to my character before the session starts. Nothing major - still a fighter, still a tiefling, still natural born leader background. Just need to move some stats around and swap a feat or two.
