I had big plans for my next character portrait and I was hoping to have something nicer for this Thursdayās session but I donāt think itās going to happen. Iāve realized drawing an elf, especially a pathfinder elf is hard! Theyāre proportions are very different from a human and their eyes are simultaneously beautiful and creepy.
But I actually really like this alien aspect of pathfinder elves. I find them them to be much more interesting than just humans with pointy ears. I think one of these elves would also tend to behave rather oddly, at least from a human point of view. I imagine a near immortal being might have a temperament akin to Dr Who. For example, perhaps laughing at moments that are clearly very serious and similarly being serious and emo whilst everyone else is celebrating. This might also explain why elves donāt have the charisma their half human kin do.
In searching for a new name for this character Iāve been playing with an online Quenya name generator. Itās pretty neat, but I have to say that Tolkien left out a lot of words that I wouldāve thought to be important to elves. For example, there is no Quenya word for āroseā. You would think that flowers would be significant in elven culture but apparently not.
One of my favorite real world names is āNastaranā which in Persian translates as āWild Roseā. Phonetically, a slightly close name in Quenya that I could find is āNandemĆ«ā which I think has a very pretty sound. Unfortunately, the English translation isā¦ underwhelming.
I found another name, VanimĆ³rien, which means āDark Beautyā. A very interesting name and arguably a fitting one for a cavern elf who definitely doesnāt live in a simple ass cave.
One other name that I really like is UndĆ³miĆ«. It means āEvening Twilightā. Seems fitting for either a moon elf or star elf.

For thatā¦ Torvad is starting to get speed buffs (vivacious speed) so if your dwarf wants to take the frontal assault, I was planning on having Torvad bounce around the battle looking to enable flanking opportunities with the extra movement.
Also, count me in on the pool of funds should they be useful/needed. love me a solid tank 
That being saidā¦ is there a way to pull aggro or manage it in PF?
Just to let you all know, I will be ready to start playing again next week. In fact, I want to because I need things like this to take my mind off all the tragedy lately.

I donāt think there is really anything like that in PF. I know in Starfinder there are feats and certain class abilities that letās you give the enemy debuffs if they attack any target other than you. D&D 5e has similar stuff, but I have yet to see anything like that in PF.

Haha!! Yeah, I was going for the large somewhat alien looking eyes that pathfinder elves seem to have, but I might have pushed it too far! Although, going to a rave is probably something she would do if raves existed in Toril.
I was really happy when I finished that drawing but then the day after, I started looking at it again and was really unhappy. I was trying to capture a gradient in shading with the stippling effect but I think it just makes her look either tired with bags under her eyes or spaced out. I may take another shot at this tonight and see how things go. This will be so much easier when Iām able to finally build a new PC and buy a Cintiq pad to go with it.
