For those who do and do not follow the BattleField (BF) franchise, the last/current game for BF labeled BF2042 was a total letdown for the avid and loyal BF player where the game literally was a carbon-copy of COD. BF2042 strayed far away from the traditions and fundamentals of the franchise, it was nonetheless a complete letdown.
There’s been recent hope with much joy for us longtime BF players… Many of us have been testing both in alpha and in beta (open and closed) the upcoming BattleField 6 (BF6) which releases at the start of October. Several weeks ago for two weekends straight there was an open beta where the first two days were closed for already alpha testers. Over this course of time, there was roughly (not all at once) 20 to 25 OTG who showed interest, played, and tested out the game.
BF6 is going back to the franchise’s roots and foundation which many of us have enjoyed throughout the years. No more slidecanceling, bunnyhopping, dolphindiving, etc. like you’re a kid hooked on Ritalin and Monster… No more specialists which we saw in BF2042 and what COD has…going back to classes. BF6 comes with a new, completed from the ground up anti-cheat engine Javelin which rumor has it will catch and deal with the controller/console players who use both the CronusMax and CronusZen “cheating” peripherals.
All this being said…can we please get the BattleField voice channel back in Discord? I’m sure there’s some other voice channels that are not being used, under utilized, etc. at the moment. Do we even still have active branches in GW2 and SWTOR? I never see anyone in there. Does X chapter need X amount of voice channels?
It’s been a fascinating journey seeing empty game channels. Battlefield was bare, Call of Duty too, but what really blew my mind were the empty channels that somehow had multiple team sub-categories.
I think the answer will be no guys. I appreciate your request for more channels; however, the powers that be will not see the need or understand the need. Buzz and I have gone back and forth through the Propper channels more than once to be told no. No one cares about the members who play shooters religiously. Don’t be surprised if the GW2 or SWTOR members don’t lash out at you and say things like how dare you. I think you are poking the bear. I have found a shooter community that fills that void for me.

We’ve got quite a decent size OTG fan base who are all appear to going to be gearing up and playing. We had a small alpha test last night, under NDA…but there were several of us testing it and it’s definitely going back to the roots and foundations of the franchise and in the right direction. I sense a lot of BF3, BF4, and BFBC2 in it… Buz and I were talking last night, it would be nice to have at least one BF voice channel, but in reality we are probably going to need two. We are all OTG and enjoy being together, most of us have been for years, over a decade and more…don’t really want to or have to elect to start our own DIscord just so we can have BF voice channels.
They are trying to reduce the number of channels we use so I usually have to remove something to get a new channel but I think I can find something to offer up. It will be just one channel so more of a lobby channel and then you are free use the team channels just below that for specific groups. There are also channels up in General Games if more are needed.
