Anyone have an island they would be willing to share I have been island hopping looking for a place
I donât know of anyone who successfully sailed away and found claimable land yet. Splutty and Taramil are close, death just keeps getting in the way. I think Taramil said he found land, but it was already claimed by early gamers. The world is huge, and weâll just have to keep sailing.
Yes the freeports are easier and you only need 75 fiber, 20 hide, and 80 wood to buy the raft from the dock guy.
We had people starting in L7, M6, M7, and a couple others I canât recall. Most are ready to sail off the noob island, which is where the frustration and death begins.
Starter zones are MUCH better now⌠Iâve been on it for 2 days as I leveled and with a couple of set backs (I drowned⌠lost all my gear to a snake as others grabbed my stuff when I died etc. lol).
Nearly ready to leave but with hosting Xmas for the in-laws not sure I can spend a few hours to do it lol⌠might have to wait until late tonight.
Iâm loving it so far⌠come join us in Discord in the temp channel area
To anyone in the M7 starter area â we managed to start a guild. If you are in the area and want an invite please drop a note (here, or much easier on the Discord text channel, or the Discord voice channel at the very bottom of Discord). As travel allows weâll eventually tag everyone, right now itâs near impossible to sail anywhere safely.
Currently thereâs no huge advantage other than being able to easily see each other and our boats on the map (fog of war applies), and allows use of guildmate built appliances on the rafts (at the moment that also includes instant access to all guild pin coded lockboxes, so thereâs an honor system).
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and holiday break. May your eggnog go down smoothly and your fruitcake digest well.
Update, we now have 6 folks guilded (thanks guys for traveling to make it happen!) and spreading out. So this will get easier and easier. It appears you can fast travel and respawn on guildies beds if you have that section of map uncovered (not sure yet if zone specific) so thatâs a perk.
still havenât been able to get past the loading screen. I was only planning on playing it for a few weeks anyway while I waited for another game to launch so I just refunded it
A post that I put up in the steam forums of my time tonight in Atlas.
I have a funny story about trying to spawn in my bed:
I finally got my raft ready to sail and take on the lawless lands. I had two storage lockers , blacksmithing station , bed (of course) and campfire. So i set out to the high seas , looking for adventure!
I get to my first lawless island and see the shoreline littered in rafts and some docks , so I figured Iâm not going to even try to claim in this area but I went to shore anyways to look for clean water. I spy on a waterfall and logically figured it would lead to fresh water. I climb up the side of the waterfall and my hunch was correct , a pool of clear waterâŚand FISH! Of course someone already started to build a house in that prime location but no matter , I was just there for the water.
Suddenly , I see a lvl 3 lion! I being level 8 with a bow , arrows and a steel axe , figured this beast would be no match for me! So i engage with the lion and let loose an arrow. That got itâs attention!
It pounced toward me and knocked me backâŚinside a boulder! I couldnât get out nor could I fight back , then , the lion being the trickster it was , joined me inside the boulder! I couldnât fight it off while it tore into me. I jumped multiple times until I was free of that bugged rock! But at that point , it was too late! I was at deaths door with no hope of surviving. The beast had slain me and I was to respawn back on my raftâŚor so I thought. I was caught in an endless loop of the map screen , then pressing the respawn at bed option only to return to that cursed screen again!
So I thought I would try to respawn back in my starting area and lose all the progress I made. That worked, but I was the poorer for it. No raft , no equipmentâŚeverything gone. So , I went about getting another raft. I felt that I WILL have my grand adventure again! So I got another raft and a bed , then when I clicked on the bed , I saw that I could see my other bed in the lawless lands! I was overjoyed to see my other raft again , so I immediatly clicked on the other boat to spawn to my original raft.
I spawned in the ocean.
So , I decided to let Davey Jones take me to the depths so I may at least go back to my newer ship. I spawned back in my starting area and lo and beholdâŚmy new raft was also gone!
TL:DR : The bed respawns are having issues.
Hope you enjoyed the story of my buggy adventure.
Merry Christmas.
Hah! Roark I wish you were with us last night. A few of us traveled aimlessly on a raft, got chewed by sharks, inspected by dolphins, had enormous fireballs lobbed at us, swam through hurricanes, and got our faces chewed by wolves. Despite the 100 deaths, It was great!
Update for those not reading Discord text channel: We have enough folks guilded now that we can fast travel to whatever starter area you are in if you wish to be tagged. Cradz managed to claim a piece of land in K-11 that weâll focus on getting a dock built for guild use and branching out around it contesting and claiming land. Once guilded youâll be able to fast travel or death respawn to any other guild boat bed or land bed.
For anyone just starting or wanting invited into the Atlas PVE guild, hereâs a new thread with the basic info:

Arr, reviving a 9d dead post!
While waiting for Ashes of Creation to bring out something other than a Battle Royale to test, I cast my eyes on this beauty called Atlas.
Yes, itâs an ARK: Survival reskin but man, itâs SHIPS and PIRATES! Arrrrrr!
Anyone that knows me knows how much I loved the ships in Arche Age. So I had to try this title out to see what it had to offer.
Since I was very familiar with Ark and Dark N Light, I thought Iâd boldy set my spawn somewhere close to the OTGers on the server. BIG mistake. Lions and giant snakes made appetizers of me for quite a while before I conceeded and started over in a Freehold (noob zone) Once I did though, it was pretty easy to get rolling if you have any Ark (or derivative) knowledge.
During all of those deaths and respawns outside of the noob zone, I got a chance to see what people have done in the couple of weeks since this game started and I was frankly floored by the big ship docks I saw. The galleons in this game dwarf what we had in ArcheAge and are much closer to what real life ships were. Beyond that, you can customize them extensively, turning them into exactly what you want them to be. This is much closer to true sailing than AA as well, as wind directions matter and weather can really wreck havoc upon your travel plans.
So this title, in spite of the many negative reviews itâs garnered on Steam, has a ton of potential and even in itâs current state is a lot of fun! Itâs right at 30 bucks and Iâd encourage anyone that played ARK, Conan or DnL to give it a try!
Some pretty fast and very nice patches coming for Atlas. The 9.x patches were applied last night and 10.x is coming on Monday:
Upcoming v10.0 (ETA: Monday Noon EST :P)
- Claim Flags now allow a âNeutral Zoneâ setting which allows any other tribes to build within them, with the specified tax rate applied to them. You are also able to specify an inclusion or exclusion list to these, to only allow or exclude specific company IDâs / player IDâs. All claim flags will have this enabled as a default setting when placed, and this will also be a retroactive change. However, it will not function until Wednesday the 9th of January at NOON EST, where we will release another server update to make Neutral Zones active. This means you will have two days, from Monday to Wednesday, to decide and adjust the settings on your claim flag before the change is live.
- Server performance improvements
- All Cannons/Turrets can now be pin code protected for lever activation/deactivation
- There are 4x as many trade ships on the seas, and they now also sell commodity types for gold, as do NPCâs at Freeports.
- Lawless servers can no longer be specified as Homesevers. If your Homeserver was a lawless server, youâll be required to pick a new (Freeport) Homeserver upon respawn.
- You can now buy a âRamshackle Sloopâ from the NPC Shipyardsman at Freeports. The âRamshackle Sloopâ is a pre-built sloop which has permanently lower plank HP, carry weight, and crew limit, but is cheaper and faster to acquire if you want to get into sailing faster.
- âFavoritesâ server selection drop-down is added for Unofficial
- Joining through Steam browser server list with password now properly caches the password for ATLAS travel
- Fixed up some temperature scalings and Weather events are now indicated on the HUD
- Armour effectiveness will be adjusted so that firearms are more useful in PVP
- Fixed some bugs related to Sea Claims, Enemy Claim Flags can now be directly pinged to identify any contesting enemies nearby, and the time required to steal an enemy claim now decreases the more Claims that enemy team has.
- Farming rebalances to be easier; water can now pipe uphill, region requirements for growing crops are more forgiving, and crop growth & yield is much faster and higher.
- Reduced shovel stamina cost.
- You can now fill waterskins/jars from ground spouts.
-
Metal Tools can no longer damage the planks of anchored ships.
- 50 more player levels added, and Skill Points per level increased. - Loot stat scaling has been boosted (retroactively) by 60%
- Sea Monstersâ damage has been reduced by 66%
- Some ship costs have been adjusted, and in some cases reduced by approximately about 50% - Animals health regen rebalanced, so theyâre not regenerating high amounts whilst in combat!
- Eating poop is now instant-death
- Fixed an issue where you couldnât kill yourself by exhaustion (for stuck situations)
Further out
- Updated some undesired movement speed max taming additions within status components, (some already set in CreatureBP), plus some unintentional unrealistic water movement speeds.
- Adjusted Seagull and Crow aggro speeds (Would previously take a long time to de-aggro). Updated collision to allow player attacks to land more consistently.
- Improved Tiger so they can walk up slopes better/easier.
- Razortooth stamina adjustments (Would previously fatigue from running in like 2 seconds)
- Animation updates for Rabbit and setup for shoulder mounting (Not yet enabled until the ability is final)
- Updated Vulture AI to only target sleeping humans if the player is connected.
- Included foot sockets in Giraffe neck attack to more consistently harvest.
- Reduced Bee movement to allow player attacks to land. Reduced sting buff duration to better reflect Bee size.
- Increased harvest amount of fur and milk from Sheep and Cow to incentivise taming and better compete with natural resource gathering amounts. Updated max yield timings to scale with creature level, similar to other creature abilities, instead of food value.
- Clamped amount of fur gained from harvesting wild sheep, again to incentive taming. Wild sheep will also flee, and may attack players after excessive shearing.

- Increased the base carry Weight of all ships by +40%
