WoW's Leeroy Jenkins, one of the internet's oldest memes, turns 20 years old

As the title says, Leeroy Jenkins meme turns 20 years old!

The meme (which is one year away from being able to drink in the US, and has already been slamming pints for two years in the UK) was released on May 11, 2005 to Warcraftmovies—you know, back when you could still have websites dedicated to the machinima of a single game. Also, back when ‘Machinima’ was still a word people used.

I saw that, is it really 20 years, wow

I can’t believe it’s 20 years old.

Sometimes, when something goes wrong I will say “At least I have chicken” but nobody knows what I’m talking about. lol

That was the most hilarious thing of all time when it first came out!

You know what this actually means right - those of us from the Beta days of DnD online back at the founding of OTG are going to be getting our 20 year anniversary badges soon

What a crazy time. It was, and still is funny.

As an aside, last week in Formula 1 (I am a fan) there was a driver who went full on…well…nuts, pissed off at another driver. This driver is admittedly full of himself. Drive like a madman, driving full on into the back of another driver.

In any case, the drivers name is Pierre Gastly (French), and using the pronunciation of his name people came up with “PIE-roy Jenkins!” to describe his antics.

I told my wife that WoW joke is evergreen.
