I have never run dual monitors before . My question is Should the second one be an equal to the first one ? I mean to say I am using an ASUS 3D navida 144fps , should my second one match this one ? Or does it matter ? Second one I would use for chat , looking things up on you tube while in game ect ! Thanks for any input . Moose
I run two monitors - a 24" Acer monitor and my 26" Vizio TV. I keep my browser and other apps on one, and game on the other with no issues.
the monitors do not need to match in size or resolution, it doesn’t matter. For the best experience it is recommended to use two monitors that are the same, but the only reason is really for asthetics, so the bezels both line up and ease of use when moving the mouse back and forth between monitors. When the displays are different resolutions moving the mouse between the monitors can be a little wonky, but only because the monitors are different resolutions. But it depends on your setup and how you want to use your two monitors. For example @Rosyposy above uses a different size tv for his second monitor, but me for example have two same 27" 1440p Dell monitors side by side so that they line up perfectly on my desk. There are no limitations for your second monitor, it just depends on what you want to do and your budget.
Cheers
Thank you
For the wonky mouse movement from monitor to monitor, that entirely depends on how you have your second monitor placed in the display settings.
If you look at those, you can drag around both monitor displays. That’s exactly what they are like. If it matches the layout you have for your own monitors, then the mouse movement should be perfectly normal.
Here’s the monitor setup of the machine I’m on right now:
So if I try to move my mouse to the right side monitor (this is just 2 monitors, I normally run 3), then it won’t do so if I’m at the top right of my primary monitor. Bottom right works fine, middle works fine, and back is no issue either.
Just make sure you set that up to reflect your actual physical monitor locations, and you shouldn’t have any issues.
Oh! Edit: Make sure to select “Extend these displays”.
Thank you
