I am getting really tired of the extraneous result of google. Does anyone know of a better search engine?
I used Duck Duck Go for years, and a few months ago switched browsers to Brave, which comes with its own search engine.
I have also been a duckduckgo user for years.
I use firefox with Duckduckgo, and also Brave
Peeps that use duckduckgo, do you use the browser or just the search engine?
I just use the search engine. I use firefox as my browser.
I use firefox to search duckduckgo on PC, but the duckduckgo browser (duckduckgo search) on mobile.
Seconding (Seventhing?) Firefox with DuckDuckGo as default search. (Which uses mainly the Bing database but without all the Microsoft bullshit).
Google is only a fallback in desperate cases, which don’t happen often.
I fall back to Google when I want to search an image on my phone. Does anyone know of a good alternative for this? I haven’t seen that option on the others.
I consider this is a privacy culture decision. As you can see almost everyone who uses duck duck go uses firefox as well. Firefox and duck duck go focus on privacy. Google search and google chrome are still the giants/monopolies that track everything you do because they can.
That being said, duck duck go is a very good search engine and firefox is a very good browser. Both work well and have good privacy standard foundations. I am google averse and have been using both firefox and duck duck go quite happily for many years. So if you are tired of google tracking and advertising, I comfortably recommend looking at firefox and duck duck go as very good options.
Thanks everyone for you comments. I have chosen to go with duckduckgo browser and search. The only thing I don’t like at this time is not being able to have more than one start-up page, but firefox is the same on that issue.
