New Hotness

Sorry that I have not posted in a while. Apparently I’ve had my one year anniversary in the guild which is to say I’ve been a member for over a decade. The boards are loco. You are probably wondering why I called you here. I have news for you. Your PvP GOD is going to lap me. Not soon, but one day. That is not important.

What is important is five new builds in two batches. These builds were specially designed for the next season.

Trinity

No, this build was not named after the Holy Trinity. Trinity was a nuclear test. And thou shall count to three… 1, 2, 5… Three, sir.

  1. Serenity Build (DPS)

Key Features: Good Damage and Robust.

How to make it?

  • Heary Armor

  • Serenity (PvP Only) Alt: Grace

  • Bow or Musket

  1. Firefly (Tank)

Heavy Armor, Da Wall, Odo and Blunderbuss

  1. Shepard (Healer)

Heavy Armor, Hecate or Vengeance, Flail and Shield

Attributes:

  1. Serenity (STR, DEX, and 52 Con)

  2. Firefly (Max STR, some Focus, and 52 Con)

  3. Shepard (Max Focus rest in Con)

There are many variations off. Playing any of them is easy. Block and use your hot key attacks. If you run out, block and hit at regular intervals. If you are impatient, just wail on him.

I have tested all three. Can survive multiply shots from a Tactician in any of the Trinity. Two Tacticians will kill you if you fight. You can get away from two Tacticians if you don’t fight.

I have the Casandra Complex. Even those who know me don’t believe me. Dats okay. Take these bad boys for a spin and you will never look back.

Thanks to Kamin and Bilbo for putting this idea in my head.

Jumbo build will be posted tomorrow.

PS: Bambi. Come back to New World. I miss you.

Oops. Correction. Jumbo build can survive two Tacticians at same time. Trinity builds can survive a Tactician charge.

Note: More detailed discussions and eyewitness testimonials will follow in the near future. Let me lay down the base builds first.

The JUMBO build is actually a single build used two ways.

Again with the Heavy Armor.

350 Con.

I like using the Wall, a flail, and Pestilence. I put everything else into STR. That tactical utility of this build is you act as a major Debuffer. I call this the Pest build.

My other option switches in Vengeance for Pestilence. Everything goes into Focus. I call this build Tac Evac in honor of the 43rd Tac Evac Squadron. Tac Evac brings them back. I have not tested this build… yet. You play this build as a combat medic. I think this may be the strongest build of all.

That Jumbo builds are strong. Real strong.

Fitted Pala, my PvP server guy out in the Serenity Build with the hottest gear on the PvP server. Without an amulet. Ran out of money. Matins has all the stuff to build him a full amulet set for the World Bosses. How? Sold most everything in his pockets. How much money left. Enough to buy a night at the Red Roof Inn.

Let me begin with the following. The weapons stated above for all the builds are Matins preference. Pick the appropriate Trinity build. Equip your favorite weapons package. Note: Do 5 con if you wish additional damage.

Now, seriously consider if Min/Maxing is actually the best course of action. I know that everyone thinks min/maxing is better than every other thought on how to design a build. Consider the following thought exercise. What is the largest problem with min/maxing? If successful, you draw attention to yourself. Attention to one’s self is a poor military doctrine. Instead, you want them to think you are not worthy of their attention.

These are not the droids you’re looking for. Move along. Block block block block block block… when they are out of breath, whack em.

I need to get some writing done tonight on my two cases before the Bureau of Veteran’s Appeals. However, let me just point out the obvious based on a question I think you might have. Is this a PvP build or a PvE build? The answer of course is Yes! Okay, let me put a bit more into how I got to that answer.

The biggest problem in the world today is bad design. If the world was blessed with great design, almost all your stress would fade away. The only evidence you really need would be to look at who currently is in charge at AGS. The first guy in charge was not a gamer. The current chief is a dang good gamer and an excellent game designer. Everyone who started in retail suffered through a horrible game design. The problem was that AGS had the dumb leading programmers who were only interested in making money.

The game sucked. Now, OTG had a huge population of traveling PvPers. They seek the Holy Grail of Game Design for PvPers. Our PvPers held out their battered tin bowls and cried… Can I have some more sir? Failing to understand who they were talking to, they each received a baker’s dozen lashes with the wet egg noodle. Most of them rage quit and didn’t have the common courtesy to hand over their stuff.

I tried to convince the PvPers that the seeds of the Holy Grail had been planted. If they were a little patient, they would find the grail. They would bring the Holy Grail to me. I would drink and be fully restored. Then I would smack them upside their heads for not doing as I told them. Geez.

Have I found the Holy Grail? Dinna be daff you right set of twits. Of course not. What has been brought to the table? A game that may find a balance between PvP and PvE. We there yet? You may be in the back seat, but I have long arms… even if I didn’t have long arms I would simple tell Tech that you are being naughty. You think your too old to be… never mind.

I mostly use the Serenity build in PvE. The Jumbo build are PvP. If that hurts your head, pick your favorite build and you can use that for everything. Really. You won’t be the best that can be, but you will be better than 85% of the people who play this game.

Let me leave you last warning. PvP OPR battles still have cheater. I know this shocks you. In a Jumbo Tac Evac build, I could probably stay alive forever against a single cheater. You would also note that most of the cheaters travel as duos or packs. Against a duo, I could probably escape if in open world. Against a pack, I would die. I would have enough time to spit in their face and do Kahn’s speech from the Wrath of Kahn. Maybe. If OTG’s PvP Pros returned, I think they could kill a cheater one on one more of the time. Better than a coin flip.

I have Brain Damage from Trauma, Bi-Polar, and PTSD. I am certifiable insane. Just because I’m insane. Doesn’t mean I am wrong.

Oh, block block block block block block may not work. Some of the boss monsters and elites carve through your stam like you don’t have any. I think some of the players can do that also. Solution?

Trinity build with 5 con. Now, you have to hear the waltz in your head… 1 and 2 and 3 and 4. Every time you hear a number… MOVE… move damn you… sloppy, really sloppy.

Another solution… Hop like a bunny. Hop hop hop hop hop… Then go reproduce.
