I am looking to swap out my headset (which gives me a massive headache after a while) for wired earbuds that have a mic and a plug for my pc’s usb port.
Can anyone suggest a good solid set?
Thanks, lyn

If you are still considering your path forward, let me make a suggestion off from what you’ve asked. (Not going to suggest a specific set of earbuds.)
Years ago I picked up an audio amplifier… here is a link to a review. Pretty sure this is the one I have, though it might be off a generation… looks like mine in the picture.
I picked it up with a headset on a recommendation. That cushions on that headset wore out, and then a second headset came and went… you get the idea. At some point I started plugging in my wired earbuds into it and it just works. Since this Sennheiser amp connects via USB and can accept a wired earbuds I thought this might solve your problem. I use earbuds I like for my phone and it works fine.
Keep in mind, you could do similarly by buying an adapter from USB to the audio jack… and still use your earbuds from your phone.
In any event, just sharing something that I ended up doing because I had this thing already in my possession. I hope this helps.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Hi Lyn, What works for me is using a Razer Siren USB Microphone (usually around $40 on Amazon) and my desktop speakers. This is the most comfortable option if you can play with your desktop speakers on. The few times my speakers might annoy others I use my headset.
That actually would work except that my son works from home just across the space in the living room and I occupy part of the family room. LOL I would drive him crazy so I have to have a headset of some sort. Which I actually have, but they are starting to give me a headache. It’s as tight now as it was back when I purchased it, even though it never really bothered me this much before.
I have TMJ and recently that has been triggered by the pressure of the headset. Therefore, I need to swap out to earbuds. I actually found a set, albeit their cable is designed for a phone so its shorter than I would like. And I did get an adapter from Amazon which effectively allows me to use my usb port on my pc. My pc ports are all of the older generation or have those holes for the pointed plug in, but that is at the back of the pc and if I use it, the earbuds don’t reach where I sit at the front and to the side of the desktop.
I’ll use these, they were not that expensive but they work. At least until I find another solution.
Lyn, if you kept the materials associated with your old headset(s)… you may have an extension cable that you can plug into your adaptor and then use for the earbuds. This is what I do even with the amp I mentioned above! If not, I would bet you could purchase an audio / earbud extension cable.
Also, now that you are using an adapter and not limited to USB earbuds… I use earbuds that are a few years old from 1More. Model number 1MEJE0002. I imagine you can get an upgrade since it has been awhile. But when I was searching 1More earbuds were getting good reviews from folks that were not looking for the high end audiophile experience.
Thanks for this info.
I never even thought about this, but I did keep my old headset and yes, it does have that extension. Thanks for alerting me to it.
