I am really digging Path of exile 2. I got stalled for a few days where i couldnt progress past a boss fight and i leveled up my character for more power but that didnt seem to help enough. What helps hugely is getting better gear.

I learned to use the poe2 trade site https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Standard/ to look up available gear upgrades and was surprised at how inexpensive it is at a low level – like to the average tune of 1 exalted orb per item. The hard part was getting sellers to respond to requests, breaking them away from their farming or leveling for a mere 1 exalted orb sale.

I switched my main character over to a Sorceress from the Mercenary i was playing. It is SO important to have a good plan ie build to proceed. I played PoE 1 extensively to level 93 with my Lightning Deadeye and what was true there is true on PoE2. maxroll.gg is a decent poe2 fan site and has a good library of builds and i chose a Stormweaver Archmage Spark Stormweaver Build Guide - Path of Exile 2 there.

It is so much fun. I varied off the build because i stubbornly wanted to just have fun and try to make my own way of it at first but when things got difficult, i consulted some deep thought out plan by some players that really analyze how the game mechanics fit together. I think think that im level 50 or 52 now.

The guild helps in-game in having access to some equipment in the guild bank. I have done a fair share of putting good useful pieces of equipment in guild storage as well as uncut skill gems that are past my level. I seriously doubt that ill have more than 1 character because it is so time intensive. Level 100 is the level cap but ive spent months in poe1 in the level 90s because theres a 5% death xp loss but it IS so fun.

There doesnt seem to be much group effort in game… like no raids or large grouping needed. Its really like you play solo amongst the company of many others but you can ask or pay for help if needed, which suits me fine because i like to play when i want to play doing my own thing and stop whenever.

I might be on discord to screen share some nights if anyone wants to watch gameplay. No talking necessary. I have often wanted to watch some live gameplay of other games that i was curious about that were on guild discord as ‘live.’ Further there is a path of exile discord that you can google that has many channels with dozens of channels where you can drop in to ask for help and or watch others play.

Thanks for the tips. I still haven’t got past lvl 2 since I got side tracked. I should go back and get really semi-serious!

You should check to see if there’s still a set of starter equipment that you can use in the guild bank that has no or very low level requirements, which would HUGELY help. Not sure if whoever is organizing the guild bank [prob gm Viking] has sorted out the low level stuff or not yet since space seems to be getting tight but there’s are a lot of very nice pieces of gear in storage there. In fact, just yesterday I got tired of having jammed stash tabs that I rarely look at and disenchanted 90% of my gear and put some of my best top 5% stuff in the guild bank.

There’s no experience point loss on death yet that I’ve found and I’m at like level 58 so most people should have fun trying and re-trying without penalty. I think that the 5% death penalty kicks in when doing endgame maps [poe 1 term] , now called waystones in poe 2.

I have NEVER seen anyone type ANYTHING in guild chat in poe 2 but its there if you need assist but the biggest assist is the availability of stuff from the guild bank, including gems. Good luck!
