@Lyn. Lyn, you’re not the only one missing your check. Many are, including Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Here is article in USA Today.
Idk if it’ll help or give you direction.

Yes, I saw that late last night but I did not get a return nor did I pay taxes, so I have no idea where I would fall in that situation. The IRS web site did not accept my information to verify if I even qualify…so I probably am one of many who have fallen into the cracks.
I do get my SS via direct deposit so if they are sending out direct deposits they already have my information. So I don’t know what to believe in all this. I’m just not counting on receiving anything.
I don’t know which icon = reply w original post so anyways …
for MMOW : I’ve heard on the news that the stimulus check is not / will not be counted as taxable income.
for LYN : my best friend who I live with and rcvs SS income mentioned it will be sent from the SS dept. I guess it will be added?
the IRS get my payment : quote " you must file a 2019 return to receive …". My 2018 is in, of course, but sent my FED IRS in this past 10th April. When I check the get-my-payment site they can not determine my “eligibility” … due to they have not rcv’d my 2019.
One of my friend’s brothers (John) filed his Fed and State taxes early. John and his wife rcv’d 2400 $ deposited into their account electronically. Heard on the Radio yesterday 80 million of the 140/150 million eligible American’s have had their electronic direct deposits processed by the IRS. The remaining folks, like myself - can’t submit DDeposit info until they rcv’d my 2019 Federal taxes, who will be rcving hard copy checks … the Treasury dept will begin mailing those out “next week”.
Just highlight what you want to quote, and a quote button will magically appear. When you click it, it opens the reply box with the quoted material at the top. Just type in front of it if you prefer the quote at the bottom.
And correct, it is not taxable income. Some weird stuff can happen if you didn’t actually qualify for it when your 2020 return is done, but that won’t be terribly common.
NON-FILERS
U.S. citizens or resident aliens who:
Most eligible U.S. taxpayers will automatically receive their Economic Impact Payments including:
From the IRS site itself.
Saved me from doing it thanks sabre
The above ones, which i think someone above qualifies for,
will be DD into the same account the SS, SSDI or RailRet, or SSI
goes into each month. If you changed accounts after Jan 1, 2020
but before March 31, 2020 you should be fine too.
Things seem to get weird for the small number who changed the
account number or type after April 1st.
Keep safe. Keep Healthy.
Like college, this is just something we have to endure for a while.
It’s a challenge but we’ll come out stronger and wiser in the end.
I live in San Jose Ca. (santa clara county) you’ve most likely heard this in the news. When I got out grocery shopping once a week / even every other week I’m seeing alot more people now with masks and gloves. I still see people with nothing at all. I mean I’d at least wear gloves for the shopping cart alone.
When I travel to/from home work, which is 4 times a day as I’m close and can go home for lunch, I see the majority of people walking, jogging, biking, getting gasoline, … with no masks nor gloves.
My thought is what would someone do if they were out and another person began to … choke, heart attack, lost child, I’d feel alot “safer” assisting being gloved/masked up.
not sure what value this post has … lol. guess I’m just sharing.
ps: I won’t get started about the mother and son who stood right behind me the other night at the store… guess they’ve been asleep for a month. lol /rollseyes
Our state parks opened here today. Groups no larger than 5, masks required, distancing required. Supposedly medical procedures get lightened on Weds, but after reading the actual order, I don’t get it. And local ordinance is > state, so who knows? I don’t go to state parks anyways, so all I really get (for me) from this is wear a mask if I go out, cuz my county said so. And maybe, on Fri, a non-essential business can bring me my stuff to my car or deliver it. Unless my county says no? Ugh, it’s getting confusing here!
they can lift the mask/glove requirements state or federal. I know I’ll be wearing them for some time afterwards. no shocker there … I’m sure others will be doing the same. especially while I’m at work.
Parks here are closed. People climb the barriers and do their thing.
It’s also the greatest common vector people admit to of those
whom have been sick or died in the zipcode and two neighboring ones.
Just edging out a group home for adults with mental health issues.
Enjoy the fresh air and a hot cup of darwinism?
@tpsabre
I’m sure you saw…
The news regarding felines having active viral loads and
confirmation of canine foot pad transmissions was released
over the last few days. Hope all goes well in your place, and with
those in your care. It’s going to get weird in the Veterinary offices
the next month.
Another advance bit for everyone. There is looking to be a number
of residual and probably lifelong complications. As with MERS-CoV,
and polio etc, life long complications from a viral infection are not
uncommon. The most common here seems to be clotting issues. I
(and the people who started this study) were a bit skeptical as the
blood thinner Rx market is a huge money maker. Apparently more
and more follow up reports have this to be a common post-recovery
complication. Meh.
To be clear; higher unexplained clotting, without injury, is being reported.
So pregnancy complications. The previously reported brain, sympathetic, and
neurological issues. To even some more common conditions in the populace
such as DVT are being reported as now related in those recovered from Covid-19.
Sample sizes and data is still being accumulated to be later reviewed.
Expect multiple papers on this up for peer review over the summer.
I’ll only link credible review locations as with other papers linked above.
i.e. CDC, Mayo, JRC
It seems my county is going with stricter than state. The county is actually what we’re expected to follow. To lessen requiring masks, the council made the judge back off the penalty. So the masks are required, but not enforced. If I shop the next county over, I can take it off. I’ll wear one regardless, but still, weirdness.
Interesting that you bring this up. Earlier this morning, I was reading this article… very interesting!

Thanks @juulz
That is a splendid 1-2 punch.
Ties in with a lot of other data too.
Takes time but models are forming.
I have faith in finding some adequate treatment
protocols soon. We’re can be a wise and smart
species sometimes.
Quick edit: Read that again. Looks like they took the D-dimer
that has been being used for diagnostics of at-risk patients,
and ran with it for research reasons. Good leap there,
hope it shows some folks where to look and what to test.
Hashy, they started to cite and even arrest people moving the barriers
to enter the parks that have been closed for a month now. First time
was this morning. Most are no mask ‘but my freedoms’ types. So
should be interesting. Double as they’re in confined space paddy wagon,
and it’s BYOM. Second wagon pulled up. Took about three hours
to fill the first one. Looks like they are only pulling in those who move
the barriers to get in, not those who follow or take advantage.
And because i forgot:

san jose CA. (santa clara county) : heard on the talk radio on my way into work … some where around here police had to remove people not compliing with soc distancing and are now citing with a ticket/fine.
Ok, I have to put this disclaimer here: I found this video extremely ironic and, yes, funny. It so deserves a good chuckle at least.
LoL.
I spent a career using the phrase, “What the Captain/Major/Colonel meant to say was…”
Do not do it unless you don’t mind foul language - very foul -> NSFW/NSFK/Foul language (The kind you might expect from someone in the military. )
But if interested in the original of that skit, search youtube for: "Cam Ranh Bay: What the Captain Means "
Again - absolutely filthy language. Be warned.
Yea…I remember. I was in the reserves and a lot of those characters in our group were really profane.
Hello OTG! I’m not sure if this is the best place to post this as it’s somewhat related to the outbreak/pandemic, but it seems a good place to rest.
I haven’t been on a whole lot lately. I work in a commissary on a small base in ND. Things have gotten pretty stinkin’ crazy over the last few months. We cannot shut down, like, at all, because we “serve” essential people. We, as workers, are not considered “essential”, but have been called on to work longer hours, more days and have given up a lot of our free time to ensure the store is sanitized and stocked for our customers. The people here range from each spectrum, just like everywhere else. We have people who refuse to wear masks, who complain about the lines, who still try to purchase over the allotted limits. We’ve all had run-ins with customers over silly things, like waiting until we can sanitize before piling their stuff on the belt or screaming at us for not letting them purchase more than two packs of chicken. It’s surreal sometimes. It seems most people have the “It’ll never happen to me” mentality. Granted, the cases here are very low, but we all have to follow the orders issued from higher ups and we get treated like we’re just making it up to make everyone’s life more difficult.
But, this isn’t a whine post. I really just want to apologize for not being a full part of the guild lately. My excuse - between my crappy work hours and 22 alts across Horde and Alliance - I want to do so much in the game and never seem to have enough time. I’m sorry. Maybe at some point I’ll be able sit and focus on my Warrior and I hope that I will still be in the guild and be able to run things with you guys. You guys are the best and I’m still super happy to be a part of OTG.
Hope everyone has an awesome day!
In the Netherlands, we have a saying that fits this quite well.
“Ikke, ikke, en de rest kan stikke.”
(Lit: Me, Me, and the rest can suffocate)
It’s even more fitting with what Covid is (yes, that’s gallow’s humour
@Saaw You never have to apologize here for life coming first! You do not need an excuse.
One of the checkout gals at the grocery store was chatting with me while I checked out, and the way they have been treated is awful. She had people, when there is toilet paper in stock, read the limit one and just ignore it or think that means one cart full. They then freak out at checkout and security has to be called to enforce it (the TP limit is also in our county orders, lol). She had people throw products at her when they learned they couldn’t return their hoarded goods. They get yelled at by customers all the time if something is out of stock.
I try to remind myself people are scared and acting out. But the selfishness is depressing for me sometimes. Hang in there!
