The number of people in IC over here has dropped for the 4th day in a row. And it’s not because they’re all dying, either!
Yay for the Dutch!! (Both gramma’s were Dutch… a VanDam and a Bosloper).
Whoa. You’re giving me flashbacks…
My first typing was on typewriters.
And AN/UGC teletype machines (Any Ditty Boppers recognize that?)
The IBM Selectric was like MAJOR elite upgrade.
First word processing was on a dedicated machine. The only thing it would do was word processing. Vytec? maybe… 8 inch floppies.
The first ‘real’ program I ever wrote - was a rudimentary word processor. lol.
Though, the first program I ever used I had to type up keypunch cards for input.
I got mine this morning, too.
That is without testing, or limited testing such as currently used.
Quest for example has admitted close to a 40% false negative rate.
I mean at that point flip a damn coin. Of course they are right now
as of this week, the only federally endorsed lab too.
If an accurate and widely available antibody test is developed, then things
can get humming again, after that goes wide. Then a predicted 2.8-3.2
that places like South Korea have exhibited. That drops again when you
have shelter in place orders being observed. Not just issued, but people
actually following them. Respirator and fatality numbers abroad are mirroring
the numbers seen in first outbreak areas.
These are from April 14, 2020.
At the bottom are statistics from around when I originally posted.
Hope for the future?
Now that zipcode and date vectoring is being done in places like NYC,
Chicago and San Francisco (Seattle’s goes live today? hopefully). You’re
seeing the expected: Warm Day? cases more than double a week later.
It’s fascinating to see correlations like churches or running paths.
London and Bristol models are expected to be active within the next week.
On the plus side, people are getting wise. Even younger patients who recovered
from symptomatic Covid-19 have a substantially diminished lung capacity two
months later. So word is getting around to not mess or act lackadaisical
this outbreak. Of course there are exceptions, which in turn have exponential
results, such as say Indiana or Georgia.
Asymptomatic and carrier (-pH and genetic) types, of course, do not
have the diminished respiratory issues.
-Old stuff update-
Prior post statistics:
This is a known inaccurate model. Many states (i.e. FL, GA, IA) and
a few countries are reporting suspicious respiratory deaths without a test as:
Unknown. Pneumonia variant. Also, those living patients discharged without a test,
are not coded as a “possible” case despite meeting all symptom qualifiers.
None of which are being submitted to CDC, NCHS, and WHO.
As opposed to deaths with confirmed or presumed COVID-19, which is to be
coded to ICD–10 code U07.1 and submitted to CDC and WHO.
This is despite having a radical increase in number of deaths.
3-5 days on shoes is one of the risks right now.
Longer on leather and natural materials shorter on man made and resistant types.
One internal spread within a hospital vector was simply two staff members
doing a full proper scrub down after contact with covid-19 patients. Then
removing their foot protection. Instead of the proper procedure of removing
all and then hand protection last and scrub. Talk about unforgiving.
Glad you’re ok sabre, miss playing games with you.
You might find this interesting, it’s still getting peer reviewed but has a lot
of correlation and companion reports that are identical:

So PIN pads, computer mice, and shoes… the places to clean often.
Be well bud. Stay healthy. Keep smiling.
Also a note for your vet patients. Gently wipe down your pets paws after they
have been outside. While not carriers directly, a few suspected vectors
and two test situations found that their pads can contain and spread live
viral loads just like shoes for almost a whole day. There is debate about
how best to release the pet data. As there is a desire to avoid overreactions
like we’ve seen all over the rural US and some third world countries.
They sent mine this morning too! To the now-closed bank account I used for my 2018 filing. Sigh.
Got my stimulus. Bought a new Washer/Dryer set since my washer died last week and hubby hasn’t had any luck fixing it. Will pay my 2019 taxes with it (hubby’s job wasn’t withholding correctly, ugh). Doesn’t leave much else so we’ll probably just save the rest. My dreams of new computers for both of us are gone with the washer situation.
Face mask requirements start for us tomorrow. Joy.
Yeah PA starts that requirements on Monday I think.
We started this past Monday. The fabric stores became ‘an essential business’ for people to buy materials to make masks at home and they sold out of materials the same day. So, we’re using old t-shirts, a ski mask, and bandanas.
I use the same mask I use when robbing banks!
My hubby just bought a Balaklava. He looks like a mobster, until he puts his glasses on.
We just went into Phase 1 of reopening here in Tejas. By May 1, we will either be going into Phase 2 or back into full blown Lockdown.
Congrats on your stimulus money. I’ve still not seen any, and at this point I figure I am not going to get any. Watching the news makes me wonder if its becoming a scam. The news is all over the place and nothing matches anything. …nothing sane that is.
The stimulus $ is not a scam. They started with folks that had direct deposit on their 2018 or 2019 taxes. That can’t all be done in one day, but they’re moving along. Other formats come next, such as social security without tax returns, etc. On the IRS site is a tool you can use to enter your info and see what the status of your money is.
I tried the IRs site but it refused to take my information…so I figure I won’t receive anything on this.
My only income is SS…so I don’t expect to see anything.
You should, it may take a few weeks. I wish IRS would release a timeline for how they are handling the distributions. It would help ease a lot of peoples minds.
About the IRS webportal, I think it’s bugged.
You should get something, Lyn…follow up as necessary.
How much are the checks worth?
Individuals earning a gross adjusted income up to $75,000 a year will be eligible to receive a $1,200 check. From there, the checks will be reduced by $5 for every $100 in income north of $75,000. They phase out completely if you earn $99,000 or more.
Married couples earning a gross adjusted income up to $150,000 will receive $2,400. Checks phase out completely at $198,000 for couples. Heads of household will receive $1,200 if they earn up to $112,500, phasing out completely at $136,500. Additionally, heads of households and married couples will receive $500 per child under 17.
Who qualifies?
You need a Social Security number to qualify for a relief check. As noted above, individuals earning up to $99,000, and couples earning up to $198,000, will receive a check, though the amount will vary.
You do not need taxable income to receive a check. Most people need to have filed a tax return to receive a check, however the Treasury Department announced Wednesday that Social Security recipients who typically do not file taxes do not need to file a return now. Payments will be automatically deposited into their bank accounts using information the IRS and Treasury already has.
Those making above the income thresholds, noncitizens without green cards and anyone who’s classified as dependents do not qualify for a check.
Will retirees get a stimulus check?
Yes, many people receiving Social Security benefits will be eligible for a check, as long as their gross adjusted income meets the requirements.
Will gig workers get a stimulus check?
Yes. As long as you have a Social Security number, filed taxes in 2018 or 2019 and meet the income requirements you will receive a check.
Well, I am on SS and I have continued to file taxes ever since I retired (none missed). Reason I file is to qualify for a student loan income based repayment program, for which I have to have a tax form to access in order to apply.
I do not earn enough to pay taxes and so I get the IBR program every year to place my student loans into a holding pattern. Since I do not earn enough to be taxed, I also do not earn enough to pay on my student loans.
But I do not receive any other benefits except Medicare, which is deducted from my monthly SS amount which brings me below the threshold. If it were not for my son having me live with him, I would probably be homeless like so many other older Americans that are on SS that don’t earn enough to pay for rent/utils/food and medicine.
Even on my meager income I contribute to the household, by buying all the groceries, pay for the yard man to do the yard and fix what ever needs to be repaired. But I have a little savings and have been frugal using any of that to augment what I get. My son refuses to accept any money for the mortgage or utilities, but I give him $400 every month to help out where ever he needs it.
Most of the art I made prior to moving down to GA, I sold and use it to pay off debts, with a little left over to help me out…until I was able to retire at 67. Still, even being careful, costs keep rising but my SS income only raises less than $4 per month which is wiped out by the increase of the cost for my medicare coverage.
I am also on SS as my only income. I did not file this year as I did not owe nor could expect a rebate. I received the stimulus $$ within the last week.
