When have I ever said no?
Lots of times… But what you should have said, When have I ever said no (and Meant it!!!)
Cackle
Well, I’m up for playing Sunday night!
You essentially said no to Xenolash in the Saturday night game so I am gonna check that off as a No
WOOT!!!
I won’t be able to play tonight. This is my last on-call week but I had a call from 2 to 6 am and am just out of it today.
No worries, Rando said last night we are still off this Sunday and session zero will be next Sunday
Mith
OK, I wasn’t sure, sorry.
That is correct!
Session 0: Sun Oct 24th
Session 1: Sun Oct 31st
I could have sworn I had a list of who was playing what somewhere. In this thread I thought…
Ryukan: Geralto (hard ‘g’ sound and make sure you roll the ‘r’) Witchwyrd Witchwarper (Scholar theme most likely)
Character joined the colony crew in hopes of establishing his own trading franchise out of the colony. Also interested in taking part in administrative aspects of the colony, I’m likely to take the HotV specific feat that deals with administrative functions and I’m definitely getting the guide specific feat that has to do with Witchwarpers.
Quixote: Fidgit (Ysoki Engineer - Spacefarer) - Scrappy little squeaker. Never seems to be happy with the situation and complains about the workload an unreasonable expectations to fix things on tight timelines, but secretly loves being counted on to deliver in a pinch. Bit of a tough guy when his drone is around… when he’s not, well…
Why is Fidgit on the colony crew? As the 18th sibling in his family his prospects for inheriting or achieving a place in his family unit is slim to none. Always one out and exploring the local area, he has finally reached a point where he can reach beyond the nest and explore the universe. Additionally, Fidgit likes games of chance. a couple of minor strings of “bad luck” have led to some sour relationships around town. nothing life threatening, but it has led to some uncomfortable situations and he’s looking for a bit of a reset socially.
Primary Motivations? To be useful and contribute to the group. Explore and experience new things. Doesn’t like it when his skills and ability to deliver are challenged not to an aggressive extent, but can get a bit salty for a while but usually gets over it once an adult beverage is in front of him.
Name: Alix
Race: Dusksight Human
Height: 5’3"
Weight: 105 lbs
Resting Heart Rate: 13 bpm
(This is probably my least original story ever but here goes.
As a baby, Alix was adopted into a kindly family of means on Absalom station. Of her original parentage and ancestry nothing is known but its presumed she must’ve been from a planet with little to no light - perhaps either tidal locked Verces or within the subterranean hive cities of Aballon.
When she was still a young child she was kidnapped and missing for 9 days before being mysteriously returned. She has no recollection of these events but whatever happened during those 9 days changed her forever, leaving her with a metabolism that can barely considered to be alive and a morbid fascination for the undead.
As a teenager she struggled to fit in, but overall she enjoyed a reasonably happy youth sheltered by the love of her adopted parents and one or two close friends who were similarly social oddities in school. Unfortunately disaster struck again at the age of 17. Both her parents and several of her classmates were killed in a spree of grisly murders. Alix survived unharmed and was held for questioning by the Absalom police. Despite their best efforts no conclusive proof linking her to the murders was ever found. The killer, or killers, are still at large.
Since then Alix has undergone extensive counseling with a therapist who has recommended that she move to a planet that is more pastoral (and presumably restorative) in nature. Thus, she has taken it upon herself to move to New Harmony and start over.
During the crossing to New Harmony she watched numerous holo-vids about the Starfinder Society. Inspired by their tales of resilience and courage she has resolved to join their number and explore all of the wonders that the new planet has to offer. Whether she can overcome the demons of her troubled past or not remains to be seen.
I let Rando know today, I’m going to have to drop from the Sunday Group. I’ve been out of work for about 6 months and finally got the OK to return on Wednesday or soon after. Due to some RL problems with my dog, I need to plan to head to bed early on Sunday nights. To be able to get enough sleep for work on Mondays.
I’m sorry but this approved return to work came up last minute yesterday. So I had to give it serious but quick thought and this is really my only choice available for me.
Mith
I imagine it wasn’t an easy decision to make, but I feel ya. I guess I’ll have to soldier on without you, and by that I mean Shobhad Soldier is back on the menu, boys.
Good luck back at the office @Mithinar and hope your dog doesn’t get too much separation anxiety / or is otherwise in good health.
@Mithinar gratz on the new job. Gonna miss you.
On a down note, got roped into a Halloween party tonight. Not going to make the session tonight.
As did I. I thought everything was supposed to be last night, but I need to go over to my brother’s tonight. Sorry all.

Okies, we’ll start next week. Horizons of the Vast: Planetfall!!!
After some soul searching (or something like that) I have come to the conclusion I don’t want to play yet another tank. In the 5e Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign I played in recently I was the tank. In this Eberron campaign I am now playing in, I am also the tank. In the Saturday night Starfinder game I am also the tank.
I am going to reverse my plan to play a soldier in HotV and I am going back to playing the Witchwyrd Witchwarper looking to get involved with colony administration and set up his own merchant business. Geralto (hard ‘g’ sound and roll that ‘r’!) is back on the table.
I totally understand. You should play what you will enjoy, Ryu. And I think we did just fine tonight without a tank.
