"English as She is Spoke"

I have run across something that is absolutely hilarious and wanted to share with all of you.

O novo guia da conversação em portuguez e inglez, ou Escolha de dialogos familiares (“The new guide of the conversation in Portuguese and English, or Choice of familiar dialogues”), commonly known by the name English as She Is Spoke , is a 19th-century book that was intended as a PortugueseEnglish conversational guide or phrase book, but is regarded as a classic source of unintentional humour in translation, because the “English” translations provided are usually inaccurate or incoherent.

But I found this referenced on a Daily Kos article that referred to a political submission to a court of law.

I remember a knitting machine that my mom bought in the 1970s - the instruction booklet included such gems as, “Do not operate disordinarily.” I wish I still had it!
