We were recently contacted by this program looking for input fro older gamers from our guild. I have checked it out as much as possible and it all appears legit. Obviously, I encourage anyone who decides to pursue this, to do their own due diligence on top of what I did. (Searched names, etc on linkedin and in general, seems to check out and correlate). Let us know the outcome of your contact!

Hello,
I hope you’re doing well. My name is Veronica and I’m a research assistant at Dr. Stinchcombe’s Healthy Aging Research Program (HARP) lab at the University of Ottawa. I’m reaching out because our research team is seeking older adults (65 years old or greater) who actively play video games and are interested in participating in a research study.
Participation in the study involves one interview lasting approximately an hour, which will be conducted through Zoom. During the interview, participants will be asked questions about their lived experiences with video games. All participants will receive a $50 gift card to thank them for their time and efforts. Ultimately, we hope that through understanding the factors that contribute to older adults’ engagement with video games we can promote the benefits of gameplay for older individuals. Participation in this study will help ensure that the voices of older adults are included in future conversations surrounding video games.
We were wondering if The Old Timers Guild would be willing to assist with our recruitment efforts for this project by connecting us with potential participants. I’ve attached the information poster to this email for your reference. If you have any questions or would be interested in helping us with recruitment, please feel free to reach out to me at this email (vpere080@uottawa.ca ) for more information. Dr. Stinchcombe is also available to answer any questions related to the project (astinchc@uottawa.ca ).
Thank you very much for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you!
Regards,
Veronica Pereira
Hello,
I hope you’re doing well! I’m reaching out to follow up on the email I sent last month regarding a research study on older adults and video games. We’re continuing our recruitment efforts and would greatly appreciate any help spreading the word about the project. I’m happy to chat further if it’s of interest.
Many thanks,
