In short I’m lost / confused when I sail to the Grymforge in BG3. I made it there last time and simply murdered every gray dwarf. I rescued, I believe, the Gnomes minus one that Nere punted into the lava ( LOL HAHAHA SNORT … I mean oh darn … I was too slow … I’m a bad person ).
Then there’s another gnome with thousands of video clips of how to steal the gun powder. That was a pain due to camera issues and switching who I wanted to speak. I saved her from sui xiding and she was still depressed and left iirc.
So, this area had me really lost and that’s where I got depressed and stopped playing a 2nd time.
I started a 3rd run (not play through) and would like to avoid the above a second time. Could anyone comment on what I should do down there ? Liberate the Gnomes, kill the duegar, make a piece of gear w/ the adamantine, why does that gnome want to blow the place up?
Thanks
Generally when I had trouble with an area I used FextraLife website walkthrough. Normally I would do a save just as I enter the area. And try it on my own. Then if I can’t seem to work things out myself then would head over there to figure out what I am missing. This way I discover as much as I can before spoilers. I prefer written out walk throughs than Youtube videos because a lot of them skip explaining trivial stuff to them, but might be things I never picked up on.

Thanks. I usually default to you tube vids. Thank you for mention this site and the link.
The game is really flexible. There are multiple paths through most scenarios. I think first time I played through that area, I never even talked to that gnome lady.
Unless you’re trying to get some specific achievement, I’d encourage you to mostly just relax into the game and go with the flow. “Trust the process”, as they say.
I do what Mith said: Just noodle around and only go look stuff up if I get totally stuck.
