[CLOSED] Strength of Thousands, Thursday nights 7:30-10:30 PM eastern time zone

I have a school function for my daughter tomorrow. So I will most likely be late but not sure how late.

I’m in discord but afk with my headset on watching the pup

Sorry everyone. I’m just getting out of the school and won’t be home for another 20-30 minutes. I’m not going to make it tonight. See you all next week.

Gromph has a new magic bracer. He can increase his move by 10 feet for a minute once a day now.

Also we are 140 xp from leveling, so start picking your next level ability increases!

This guy makes a lot of good points about Recall Knowledge checks. Some of his solutions mirror how I feel about how they are defined in game RAW. He goes a lot more in depth than I probably would with some of it, but I think it’s a good fix overall to what I think is a broken element of 2e.

recall knowledge now takes 4 days

Sounds like I was giving out too much information on a single roll :smiling_imp:

I like his solutions. The summary I made looks like this:

  • First check automatically use the best skill, but it is hidden from the players what the best skill actually is.
  • ID the creature is Level based and part of the initial check
  • Asking a question about something specific depends on the nature of the question
  • During combat you can retry even after a failure and the DC doesn’t go up each time because you are observing the creature.
  • Ignore the false information from crit fails (I was already doing this  )
  • Special abilities that grant temporary advantages on crit success are repeatable and use level based DC
  • It is permissible to ask the creatures level and that is a level based knowledge check

Sound good? Did I miss anything?

Sounds great to me.

I like it too.

Just an idea I would like to ask everyone.

As we are all getting tired before the end of the game, how about we start earlier?

I’m not necessarily against that. I do however take my daughter to dance from 7:25-7:50 so I would miss about 30 minutes of time.

And to be honest I’m usually ready for bed by 9:45 anyways! Getting up inThose years!!!

It shouldn’t be any trouble for me to start earlier if it works for everyone else.

That’s not a problem for me

I should be able to, as long as I’m not working late.

Okay, so are we thinking 7 - 10 or 7:30 to 10:30?

I would be fine with a 7 start, and honestly playing until 11 or when ever we start passing out would work with me too

Im ok with either one.

What time are we starting tonight? Ending 10-10:30 works for me also.
