[Finished] SF - Three AP Starfinder Campaign (Saturdays, 8-11 EDT)

Yeah well I’m gonna one up you as the villain and I call dibs on the messenger that constantly tells you your kingdom needs assistance.

Those guys are the worst!

I want to be the royal cousin, who wins the bid on the kingdom sanitation contract… Muhahahahahahaha

Alrighty then, I guess Kingmaker is off the table…

(I can’t believe I’m about to type this)

Seriously, though for a sec…

~pauses for the laughter to subside~

Do we want to do Outlaws of Alkenstar?

A ragtag band of gunslinging outlaws get their hands dirty in the greasy alleyways and whisky-soaked saloons of Alkenstar, the City of Smog. To get revenge on the mogul who destroyed them, the renegades will have to stick up an illicit bank, foil a crooked shieldmarshal, and escort a reclusive inventor to safety. All the while, countless rough-and-tumble rivals aim to waylay the party and seize the inventor’s latest concoction: pyronite, an explosive substance with the potential to change the face of the world. In a city where the clockwork guards are literally as tough as brass, the antiheroes will need true grit to dole out overdue justice.

I am not-so-silently judging y’all, yet that does sound up your alleys. Chaotic Neutral murderhobos.

Sound off now and I’ll buy it.

Too late! I bought 'em.

Shh! Something screwed up on their website and I got the second module for $7 instead of $25.

I wasn’t feeling it when you mentioned it last session and looking more at the AP, yeah still not feeling it. I’m guessing you will run it as PF2e? Definitely not interested. But hey it’s a four person AP so it’s perfect if the rest of y’all want to do it.

I know Ryu’s and my votes, but for the rest of y’all:

Do we absolutely have to finish The Devastation Ark?

Well I would like to finish it. Just because it is the highest level I have ever gotten in any game I have ever played. It might never happen again. But I’m not going to get grumpy if we move onto anything else. I know that Starfinder is not enjoyable in FG other than a minute here and there. And the scaling is insane for skill checks, but not for the encounters ( which the system just cannot seem to get to work very well).

Should have killed us when you had the chance I guess.

I’m not going to take Mith’s highest level character away from him.

~shakes a semi-angry fist at you all but isn’t all that angry 'cause too busy making a character for Strength of Thousands… aw yeah!~

Alrighty, Outlaws of Alkenstar after ~grumble~ Devastation Ark.

I am looking fwd to playing a murder hobo err i mean anti-hero. And will start the gears turning on a character concept, start at lvl 1?

Si.

I ass-u-me at least one of you will want to be an Inventor and one of you will want to be a Gunslinger. An Alchemist would be sweet too.

Very tempting to make an automaton that has been patched together using a still, or espresso machine.

When using quick alchemy, opens his chest compartment, adjusts a few valves to get the right concoction, bit of steam and bubbling liquids then fills a vial, with whatever brew/bomb was being created.

I might consider running with that, unless someone else was dead set on an alchemist in the near future.

That’s a lovely blank canvas there, may I suggest an image for it? :smirk:

If we actually finish Devastation Ark to the end then I will play Outlaws of Arkenstar with y’all.

Outlaws of Arkenstar making use of the Guns and Gears book?

From Outlaws of Alkenstar Player’s Guide:

While not required to enjoy Outlaws of Alkenstar, Pathfinder Guns & Gears is an especially useful supplement to have on hand, as it contains a number of character options and rules elements specifically designed for characters in Alkenstar, the industrial metropolis at the heart of this Adventure Path.

The party could be your typical bard, cleric, rogue, fighter, wizard and that would work fine. Though if one was so inclined as to play a character from Guns and Gears, this would be the AP for it.

For those wondering about magic in and around Alkenstar/Mana Wastes, again from the Outlaws of Alkenstar Player’s Guide:

In the Outlaws of Alkenstar Adventure Path, magic is assumed, by default, to function reliably and as described in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook. This means that you can play as a sorcerer, witch, or any other spellcaster without fear of being at a disadvantage. The rare mana storm might complicate matters once or twice during the campaign, but your characters will be made aware of these events well in advance, giving you plenty of time to prepare for situations that could dramatically impact your character’s abilities.

It is rare that I get to play high level characters, so this works for me. If Ryu does not have 3 better things to do and will join us for the next if we finish it, that seems a good solution. Besides, how am I going to know how irritating PF2 is without him explaining how a given situation includes “XXXXX levels of bullshit”
